Childcare is the most personal hire a family ever makes, and the most personal job a caregiver ever takes. Here's how we keep this community worthy of both.
New accounts don't appear on the Connection Board the moment they sign up. Caregiver, family, and agency profiles are reviewed and approved by our team first. It's a small delay that buys something valuable: when you see someone on the board, you know a real person looked at their profile before you did.
ListingsJob posts, availability listings, and agency placements all pass through review before going live. We check that listings are real, complete, and respectful — including that pay is stated honestly. Listings that don't meet the bar don't run.
AccountabilityFamilies review caregivers — that's every platform. On Nanny Portal, caregivers also review families, on the things that decide whether a job is actually good:
Reviews are moderated before publishing. Retaliatory or fake reviews are removed, and repeat offenders lose their accounts.
VerificationCaregivers can strengthen their profile with a professional background check, purchased through their dashboard and run by a licensed screening provider. Verified caregivers carry a badge on the board, and families can see at a glance that screening is complete.
A background check is one signal, not a guarantee — we encourage families to interview thoroughly, check references, and trust their judgment alongside ours.
SafetyEvery profile and listing on Nanny Portal has a report a concern option. Reports go to our team — not into a void — and a real person reviews each one. Depending on what we find, we may warn, suspend, or remove an account, and where safety requires it, we'll cooperate with authorities.
If something feels wrong, report it. You can also reach us any time at hello@nanny-portal.com or through our contact page.
